Joseph Noiret: L'espace oblique

(oblique space)

With illustrations by Gottfried Wiegard Ex. S.P. from 600

Edition La Pierre d'Alun, Brussels 1986. Joseph Noiret was a Belgian artist, painter and poet, and one of the six founders of the Cobra movement. A prominent figure in Belgian art circles, he worked to expand his influence. The magazine Phantomas, which he founded, achieved cult status. His main commitment was to the Cobra movement, for which he wrote reviews. He enjoyed illustrating his own poems and after the end of Cobra he devoted most of his time to painting.

About the artist: Rose-Marie Dath was an art teacher until her retirement, specialising in drawing, painting, digital image processing and screen printing.

From 1997-2008 she regularly attended Jeannine Janssens' bookbinding studio at the Musée Royal de Mariemont. Since 2003, she has led workshops and courses in bookbinding and coloured papers, notably at the Ecole de la Cambre and Le Vésinet. She regularly takes part in exhibitions and competitions with her work. Since 2010, her master bindings have won first place four times, which speaks volumes for their quality.

She lives in Péruwelz with André Lamblin, art critic and author of texts on binding art, among other things.
