Markus Raetz: The books

Three volumes in cassette. Numbered and signed edition of 600 copies of this one without number

Staehli Gallery and Edition, Zurich 1975 Raetz (1941-2000) was one of the most renowned contemporary Swiss artists. In his works, executed with a wide variety of materials and media, he focussed on the phenomena of perception. His focus was not on what was depicted, but on the way it was received. He often invited the viewer to interact.

About the artist: François Bernaschina grew up in Geneva, where he completed a manual bookbinding apprenticeship at Reliure Vermeille. This was followed by 5 successful years as a creative bookbinder at Bubu AG Mönchaltorf, interrupted by a year of practical training in Boston, USA. In the 1980s, he successfully took part in several professional competitions. After a number of non-professional activities in French-speaking Switzerland, including teaching at the vocational school in Lausanne, he began studying psychology at the University of Geneva, which he completed in 2003 with a doctorate. From 2004-2006 he was responsible for internet communication at Compusoft SA and since 2007 he has been a partner at the Francfort communications agency in Lausanne.
