Full-grain binding Red and blue oasis goatskin, separated by a white, irregularly wide strip of leather that runs over both covers and the spine to the fold under the spine, gold and blind lines accompany and cross the leather strip, hand-gilt title on a smooth spine, punched gilt head edge, hand-stitched capital, spine and endpapers with hand-made marbled paper in red and blue, two-part case in red and blue leather, covered with marbled paper, adapted to the shape of the book.

Peter Aegerter won the gold medal at the 1987 MfB competition with this cover.

About the artist: Peter Aegerter grew up in Gstaad and completed an apprenticeship as a hand bookbinder at Schumacher AG in Bern from 1961. After working in Geneva, Aarau and Bern, he worked for Boss-hard in Langnau from 1970. He passed his master craftsman's examination in 1973, followed by further training courses at the centro del bel libro in Ascona. Peter Aegerter was also committed to helping young professionals, gave preparatory courses for the master craftsman's examination and worked as an examiner. He is the author of the highly acclaimed specialised folder on work techniques and work processes.

Aegerter won three gold medals in the international binding competition for the Prix Paul Bonet in 1992. In 1993, he was a founding member of the buchundform group and took part in numerous trade fairs and museum exhibitions. In 1994, he opened his own studio in Langnau i.E., which he handed over to his former apprentice daughter Andrea Neuenschwander in 2012. Since then, he has intensively pursued his hobbies: travelling, hiking, biking, photography and design.
