Le petit prince

About the content:

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: Le petit Prince

With coloured drawings by the author

NRF Gallimard, Paris 1957 The Little Prince is a story by the French author with his own illustrations. The book was first published in Saint-Exupéry's exile in New York in 1943. The modern fairy tale is his most popular work and is regarded as a literary realisation of Saint-Exupéry's moral thinking and a critique of the decline in values in society. It is often interpreted as a plea for friendship and humanity.

About the artist: Vera Creola trained as a bookbinder, including hand gilding, book restoration and cover design, in Paris from 1972-81. She previously worked as an embassy secretary in Washington DC. Her husband, also in the diplomatic service, was transferred to Paris and so she attended courses there and worked in various bookbinderies.

In 1982 she moved to Bern and set up her own workshop, which she still runs today. She was a founding member of buchundform in 1994 and regularly takes part in national and international cover competitions with great success.
