Cover with leather cover and open spine La-gene stitched with brown thread ‘Coptic’ with open, unglued spine, both covers decoratively covered with different coloured pieces of leather (goatskin and oasis goatskin), partly underlaid with shaped pieces of cardboard, partly perforated or glued on joint, coloured paper endpapers, hinged box covered with light grey uncoated paper.

Blind band made of individual layers with quarter sheets of marbled paper of different widths.

About the artist: Monique Lallier was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1941. She began her training in Montreal at the Cotnoir Cappone School of Fashion & l'Art de la Reliure. For further training, she worked in Paris with Roger Arnoult, Hugo Peller and Edwin Heim at the Centro del bel libro in Ascona. She later worked for several years as director of the AAB, the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluri-de in Corlorado. She has been running her own bookbinding business in Som-merfield, North Carolina, for many years and is a recognised binding designer. She also teaches at various schools and gives courses in her studio.
